Dear Parents, Students, and Staff,
Our District was informed by the Wayne County Public Health Department today that one elementary and one high school student have tested positive for COVID-19. At this time, we do not have definitive proof of transmission within schools, however, with the increased number of cases, we can no longer be certain there has not been spread within our buildings.
We have contacted those families impacted by the positive cases on an individual basis as directed by the Wayne County Public Health Department. The Wayne County Public Health Department will be reaching out directly to those families within 72 hours. No additional actions are required on behalf of the District.
We ask that medical questions be directed to your family doctor/healthcare provider. Administrators are currently available through email to address your school questions and concerns.
We cannot stress enough how important it is to continue masking, physical distancing and practicing good hand hygiene. We continue to see an increase in the number of positive cases within our schools, and continuing to practice these measures throughout our school day will ensure the safety of all staff and students. By reinforcing these habits at home and in the community we can work together to help contain the spread and keep our school community safe and our buildings open.
